SUMMARY:Banned Book Club: Animal Farm
DESCRIPTION:Participate in free and open discussions of important civil
matters the first Tuesday of each month. In May\, we're celebrating the
freedom to read by discussing the banned book Animal Farm by George Orwell.
We will discuss not only the book itself\, but also the concepts of free
speech and censorship as we encounter them in the modern world.\n\nThis
title is only available as an ebook and e-audiobook. If you need assitance
downloading and using the Hoopla app\, please visit the information
desk\n\n\n\n\nSynopsis\n\n“All animals are equal\, but some animals are
more equal than others.”\n\nA farm is taken over by its overworked\,
mistreated animals. With flaming idealism and stirring slogans\, they set
out to create a paradise of progress\, justice\, and equality. Thus the
stage is set for one of the most telling satiric fables ever penned—a
razor-edged fairy tale for grown-ups that records the evolution from
revolution against tyranny to a totalitarianism just as terrible.\n\n\nThis
program is part if our civic dialogue series\, which includes the Banned
Book Club and Let's Talk About It. Programs include:\n\n\n\n\n	May 7th:
Banned Book Club: Animal Farm - Censorshp\, revolution and the road to
totalitarianism\n	June 6th: Let's Talk About Free Speech - What exactly is
the freedom to speak?\n	July 2nd: Let's Talk about the Rest of the First -
