Exploring the Art of Forgery In-Person

We're wrapping up our Exploring Great Artists series with the Art of Forgery!

Art forgery has always been present - usually for money but also for other reasons. We will look at some famous forgers in the past and describe their techniques. We will also talk about the challenge of producing ‘good’ fakes. Detailing their procedures also gives us some understanding of what goes into the creation of great art. Our presenter, Duane Ray, will also share with you his experience of inquiring about obtaining a piece of great art – his choice – painted to order by one of the great forgers of our time.

This program will be held in-person in the Downtown Library Community Room and virtually on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81071700032
