Cells, Genes, and Germs, Oh My! In-Person

  • Did you know our bodies and the bodies of all living things are made of building blocks called cells?
  • Have you ever wondered why you look similar or different to your friends and family?
  • How can we keep ourselves safe from germs?

Local scientists will be at the library to engage children in age-appropriate (ages 3–10), hands-on activities to introduce them to the worlds of cellular, molecular, and pathogen biology. Activities will include drawing/modeling cells, a game to match DNA "sequences" to traits found in your household pet (or other animal!), and building models of pathogens (germs).
