Let's learn about the recent effects of the wildfires on our local landscape!  Join library staff on a 4.8 mile hike up and then down Slate Mountain.  This moderately easy hike will take us up to 8215 feet with views of local mountains and the canyon!

What you'll need:

Transportation to and from the trailhead.  Water, snacks, sun protection, shoes for hiking.

How to get there:

Drive 35 miles north of Flagstaff US 180 to FR 191.  Turn west 2 miles to the trailhead on the right side of the road.  US 180 is paved.  FR 191 is graveled and suitable for passenger cars in most weather.
