Somatic Clay Experience ~ Exploring the Mind/Body Connection and Storytelling with Clay In-Person
Please join Federika Cariati of Mud Muse Ceramics and the Flagstaff Public Library for a free outdoor workshop where we connect with clay as a method of exploring personal narratives around self-identity. Through the use of guided meditation, physical touch, archetype cards, and playing with clay, we hope participants will discover something new about their personal story of self, or explore a new angle or perspective on an existing story of self.
The first 60 minutes of the workshop will include archetype card selection, journaling, guided meditation, guided light physical movement, a blindfolded clay exercise, and a share circle. The last 30 minutes of the workshop are optional -- this time will be dedicated to playing and creating with the clay.
What to expect:
This event will be held OUTSIDE on the Southwest Lawn of the Downtown Library.
We will be sitting on the lawn AND playing with clay -- please dress appropriately! The Southwest Lawn is on of corner of Aspen and Sitgreaves.
We'll provide cushions and blankets for sitting on the grass -- chairs are available upon request. Please remember to wear sunscreen and bring a bottle of water to drink!
Restrooms and a water fountain are available inside the library.
In case of poor weather, we will relocate inside to the library's Community Room.
Registration is required!
