Arizona Flora Finders: Finding & Conserving Rare Plants in Northern Arizona In-Person

Join Museum of Northern Arizona Botany Collection Manager Kirstin Phillips for a special program to celebrate Earth Day and Citizen Science Month! Learn about local efforts to find rare plants, plus what we are still searching for and how you can get involved as a Citizen Scientist. Check out herbarium specimens of some the plants that have been found so far and pick up a free copy of the Arizona Rare Plant Field Guide, while supplies last!

Phillips will discuss the Arizona Flora Finders community project. Phillips trains Citizen Scientists to identify and find seven plants that are rare in Arizona, including two orchids. You can help by looking for these seven plants on your hikes around northern Arizona. No experience is necessary, but strong hiking skills are recommended and training is provided.
